Obituary

WILMA L. PHILLIPPI, age 80. Of Piqua, went to be with the Lord at 10:15 AM on Friday August 11, 2017 at her residence. She was born August 26, 1936 in Xenia, OH to the late Harry and Pearl (Hilliard) Smith. She married Charles Phillippi on August 26, 1960 in Piqua, OH. He preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1985.

Wilma is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Randy and Michelle Fisher, Sidney, OH; six daughters and sons-in-law: Mary and Rick Slife, Piqua, OH, Tammy and Paul Bubeck, Piqua, OH, Candy and Wayne Nash, Piqua, OH, Wilma Pierce, Piqua, OH, Charlotte Epley, Piqua, OH, and Debra Phillippi, Piqua, OH; eighteen grandchildren: Rick, Kevin, Nicole, Jasan, Melissa, Jessica, Alisha, Kyle, Angie, Brandy, Misty, Amber, Shelly, Jason, Chad, Stacey, Robert, and Danielle; thirty-seven Great-Grandchildren and two Great-Great Grandchildren; Several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter: Madison; four brothers: Donald, Ray, Pete and Ed; three sisters: Helen, Alice and Dorothy.

Wilma was a member of Madison Ave. Church of God in Piqua. She was very active in the church in which she was in CWC, prayer cell, the choir, and the social committee. Wilma enjoyed life and loved to play Bingo, Knit and walk. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Wilma worked for Hartzell Vineer in Piqua for six years and she worked for Piqua Altera Sterling House for over ten years.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday August 15, 2017 at Madison Ave. Church of God 922 Madison Ave. Piqua, Ohio 45356 with Pastor Scott Stremmel officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua. Calling hours will be Tuesday 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua, OH.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 2808 Reading Rd. Cincinnati, OH. 45206. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.melcher-sowers.com

You were my best friend , My mom for years. I'm so heartbroken that your gone. What I would give to have you back. I'm grateful to have had you in my life. There's not a day that will go by that I won't miss you. Love you. Thank you for everything grandma.
