Rebecca A. Ault
REBECCA A. AULT, age 65, of Troy, passed away at 1:35 P.M. on Wednesday March 15, 2017 in her residence. She was born in Troy, OH on November 13, 1951 to the late Donald J. and Carol J. (Couchman) Ault Sr.
She is survived by four daughters: Kelley McCoy & Mark Armstrong, Troy, OH, Shannon Doyle, Troy, OH, Tiffany Doyle, Piqua, OH, Brittney Doyle, Troy, OH, six siblings: Melissa & Mark Millhouse, Piqua, OH, Carla & Randy Baker, Piqua, OH, Rick Ault, Piqua, OH, Michael & Susan Ault, Piqua, OH, Karen & David Bingham, Piqua, OH, Rob Ault, Piqua, OH, seven grandchildren: Harmonii Lane, Jamari Lane, Carson Roller, and Hayden Doyle, Clohe Roller, Cierra Roller, Carmen Roller, best friends: Cathy and Jane. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Donald (Joe) Ault Jr. and Steven D. Ault.
Rebecca was a 1970 graduate of Piqua Catholic High School. She graduated from Edison State Community College in 2002 with an Associate of Arts Degree. Rebecca then graduated from Wright State University in 2004 with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. She worked at Peerless in Sidney for five years, then began teaching at Edison State Community College before she received her Master’s degree in English from Wright State University. She was an adjunct English teacher at Edison for twenty years, and also taught at Sinclair for eight years, along with being a tutor throughout her teaching career. Rebecca was a founding member and secretary of the Creative Writing Club at Edison. She had a passion for the languages. Rebecca spoke Spanish and substituted once for the Spanish class at Miami East High School. She was also studying to speak Japanese. Rebecca also taught herself French. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic church. Rebecca especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and the rest of her family. She enjoyed writing stories, poetry, with some published, studying Thai Chi, listening to 70’s music, and was an avid snow lover.
A Celebration of Rebecca’s Life will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by MELCHER-SOWERS FUNERAL HOME, Piqua.
