Hi Jack, today I had a strong desire to call you to hear you sing the Ave Maria. Gosh, I miss you. Tom put your picture next to my chair so I can see you. I think of our younger years when you came home from the Navy. You taught me the waltz. I'll never forget. Even though there were other siblings between us in age, you and I had a lot in common with crafts, songs, etc. You screen printed our wedding announcements. I remember when we came home and saw them spread all over the house. You wanted to dry out the print. The photo you took of the covered bridge in Piqua-I had made into large sepia tone. They are now at the Piqua Library in your honor. Well, this is the closest I can come to talking with you. We love you and miss you so very much. Goodnight and love you so much, Alma & Tom.

Dearest Marie Anna, Nathan and Erik,
Our hearts ache for you as with us. Tom and I loved him dearly. I enjoyed his singing the Gregorian Chant to me over the phone and Tom enjoyed sharing their Catholic faith with each other. He was such a talented man. His sculptures and drawings were beautiful as his voice.
He spoke with a reverent softness that calmed us with any concerns. His love of nature started as a very young boy, and carried to his last day on their beautiful surroundings there in Houston, OH. Jack never spoke ill of anyone, regardless of any unkind words spoken about him. I know he has a place in Heaven next to his loving God. We miss you Jack!!
We love you all dearly, Alma (Stricker) and Tom Mellinger
